Chocolate Ice Magic Hard Shell for Ice Cream

  • ¼  cup coconut oil, melted
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa or cacao powder
  • Tbsp maple syrup


  • Add all ingredients into a small saucepan and melt over a gentle heat, stirring well.
  • Your ice magic is ready to be used! Tip sauce into a small milk jug and then pour over ice cream - it will quickly harden upon contact.


Storage: Store leftover sauce in the fridge - you will need to reheat it before using as it will quickly harden.
You don’t need to sweeten this up too much, even if your cacao is a bit bitter - as it’ll be slathered on ice cream it will pick up the sweetness of the dessert.
